Crisis Group Dakar office is seeking two full-time interns to assist the West Africa project team in their daily activities from January to March 2014 and from April to June 2014. The interns will be particularly in charge of daily monitoring of the news related to the West African countries, preparation of internal reports, and desk research on relevant topics. The project monitors the political developments in the following countries: Burkina Faso, Côte d’Ivoire, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Liberia, Mali, Nigeria and Sierra Leone.
The internship would suit a bilingual English/French candidate with a recent degree in international relations/political science/economics/other relevant studies, looking for an experience in a fast-paced international NGO.
Excellent writing skills in English, written and oral French; knowledge of other languages (such as Portuguese) would be an asset; Interest for and basic knowledge of politics and economics of West African countries; Excellent organisational skills; Ability to work under tight deadlines; and Experience with basic administration and organisation of events is desirable.
Compiling relevant information on a daily basis on the West African countries; Assisting in the preparation of various internal reports; Assisting the analysts in their research for the reports; and Providing administrative support when needed.
